On Saturday October 27th, Manasquan Savings Bank held a Fall Celebration at their Route 34 office in Wall Township. The event attracted quite a crowd and featured a shred truck, giveaways, and more.
“The event was a great chance for community members to come together to celebrate the season, learn about the bank, and support local charities such as the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties,” explains Kristine Zulewski, the Branch Manager at Manasquan Savings Bank in Wall Township.
The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties was also in attendance, collecting non-perishable food donations. “Community members really came together for a good cause and donated a large amount of food to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties,” Zulewski noted.
In addition to the food drive, Manasquan Savings Bank presented the FoodBank with a $500 donation that stemmed from a facebook promotion that aimed to support and raise awareness for the organization.
“The food drive and promotion couldn’t have come at a more helpful time for our community. We were able to give the FoodBank our donation just days before Hurricane Sandy struck land in New Jersey,” explains James Vaccaro, Manasquan Savings Bank President and CEO. “Since then the great people at The FoodBank have been a crucial resource for hurricane relief and we’re proud to have been a part of that effort.”
The community also benefited from various giveaways by both Manasquan Savings Bank and Thunder 106, who was on hand doing a live broadcast. Giveaways included an iPad, iTunes and Amazon gift cards, portable grills, stadium chairs and more.
Planet Shred was on site with their Shred Truck, giving people another chance to safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents. “Everyone in the community loved the shredding service and we ended up shredding approximately two and half tons of material throughout the day,” added Zulewski.
