MANASQUAN, NJ (January 24, 2014) – As Manasquan Savings Bank kicks off its 140th year providing trusted local banking solutions in Monmouth and Ocean counties, it is proud to announce the promotion of four key team members. The professionals in these four leadership positions will help the bank continue to offer the personal service for which it is known, with responsibilities spanning accounting and lending.
“It is through the efforts of our talented team that we are able to provide the highest level of service,” says President and CEO James S. Vaccaro. “The contributions of these leaders will continue to create value for our customers.”
Two of those promoted will bolster the well-established Commercial Lending division at the bank.
Jeffery Casten has been named Senior Vice President and Director of Commercial Lending and will assume the lead departmental role, overseeing production and underwriting. Mr. Casten came to the bank in 2006 from Wachovia, where he was VP / Senior Commercial Relationship Manager for 18 years. A 30-year commercial banking veteran, Mr. Casten has conducted business throughout much of NJ. This enhanced role follows a promotion to Senior Vice President in January 2009.
Mary Anne Whittemore is also rising in the ranks of Commercial Lending with a promotion to Senior Vice President. Ms. Whittemore joined the bank in 2012 as a Vice President in the division. Her banking experience spans 30 years and includes commercial credit analysis, small-business and middle-market lending. She will continue to expand her role as a pivotal member of the team.
“With the entire commercial market positioned for growth, it is the right time to further invest in our talent.” Vaccaro says. “Jeff and Mary Anne have proven invaluable, and will help our commercial customers capitalize on emerging opportunities.”
Also in the lending division, but with a residential focus, Michael Acampora has been promoted to Underwriting Manager. With 25 years of banking experience, Mr. Acampora has been a key team member since joining the bank in 2010. Prior joining MSB, he managed the entire loan mortgage portfolio group at Sovereign Bank. Mr. Acampora will oversee the underwriting of residential loans.
“We have always had an emphasis on offering competitive loans for our residential customers,” Vaccaro notes. “Mike will help ensure that we are in the best position to continue to do so as the market improves.”
Additionally, in the Accounting department, Nancy M. Canary was recently promoted to Sr. Vice President and Controller. Ms. Canary joined the Bank in 1993, and will continue her oversight of the accounting department while taking on new finance department initiatives.
“As we look forward to executing on the next chapter of Manasquan Savings Bank, it is essential that we continue to adapt,” Vaccaro notes. “Nancy’s keen insight will continue to help the bank grow in a fiscally responsible fashion.”
