On Saturday, October 24, 2015 Manasquan Bank is hosting their 2nd Annual Community Day celebration to be held at Squan Plaza in beautiful downtown Manasquan from 11am– 4pm. Last year, the celebration was held to mark the Bank’s 140th anniversary of continuous service to the community. This year, the celebration marks a new chapter in the Bank’s progression, with the recent unveiling of its enterprise rebranding.
In keeping with tradition, the event is completely free of charge and will include a range of activities such as, carnival games with prizes, pony rides, food and refreshments, and enter to win prizes. All area residents are invited to attend this family friendly event. A Shred Truck will be at the branch from 9am – noon or until the truck is full. Materials are shredded on-site and limited to two files boxes or 50 lbs of mixed office paper only, no magazines or newspapers.
“Manasquan Bank began as a building and loan association, financing some of the historic homes and commercial buildings we still enjoy today. Over the years we have evolved into a full service banking institution serving businesses and residents alike. The Bank has always been and will always remain an integral part of the communities we serve,” said James S. Vaccaro, President and CEO of Manasquan Bank. “It is only fitting, as we look forward to our next generation of service as Manasquan Bank, that we offer a community celebration for everyone to come together and enjoy.”
Community Day attendees can look forward to the same carnival-like atmosphere with skeeball, water races, basketball and other amusements popular with kids of all ages. Children can enjoy free pony rides. The Bank’s management team will once again be manning the grills, serving up hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, sausage and more. A pumpkin painting station will be set up for anyone who wants to get artistic, along with other fall crafts. Music will be provided courtesy of 106.3 Thunder and 94.3 The Point, who will be on site and giving away prizes of their own.
This year, the Bank has upped the ante with three items that attendees can enter to win. The grand prize is a custom designed Stand Up Paddle Board, hand-crafted by local business East Coast Surfboard Factory. The other two prizes are an Electra 1 Beach Cruiser Bike from Brielle Cyclery and a custom designed Skateboard. Entries can be submitted online or in person and the items will be awarded to the winners on the Bank’s 142nd Anniversary on March 21, 2016.
In keeping with the bank’s community focus, a food drive will be held alongside the fun. Event attendees are invited to bring canned donations to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. A list of most-needed items can be found on the organization’s website.
