Students from the Brookside School in Wall Township received a special lesson in banking when they were given a tour on March 21st, 2012 of Manasquan Savings Bank’s Landmark Place, Wall Township office. A total of 22 students, ranging from Kindergarten to 2nd Grade, were in attendance for the tour, accompanied by Brookside teachers Ms. Olson and Ms. Diana.
The tour was led by Susan Bressi, Loan Originations Manager in the Residential Lending Department at Manasquan Savings Bank. Susan’s two children, Christian and Aidan, both attend the Brookside School in 1st grade and Kindergarten.
“Helping teach the students about how the banking industry works was a great experience,” says Susan. “Giving the children a firsthand look at how we do business can spark more interest in how money works for them, which I think is a very rewarding idea.” Susan states.
The students are currently learning about counting money in class and the tour provided a unique and interesting way to expand on the topic of money. During the tour, the children had a chance to interact with the tellers and view how everyday banking transactions take place. Each student was able to use the coin redemption machine and learn how it operates. They also toured other areas of the branch office as well as the Corporate Center and witnessed a typical business day at the bank.
