A local Cub Scout troop had a chance to tour the Manasquan Savings Bank Corporate Headquarters in Wall Township on Friday May 4th, 2012. A total of 11 scouts, from the Pack 194 Tiger Cub Den #3 were in attendance for the tour. The 11 scouts are all members of the 1st Grade Class at Old Mill Elementary School in Wall Township.
Kristine Zulewski, the Branch Manager at the Manasquan Savings Bank in Wall Township, led the tour. The president of Manasquan Savings Bank, was also in attendance to meet with each of the scouts.
“I loved giving the tour, it was a great opportunity to teach children about how the banking industry works,” says Zulewski. “Having the scouts visit the bank was a great experience and we believe it is rewarding to both the children and the community to spark an early interest in the concept of money and finance.” Zulewski added.
Den Leader Scott Jennings and Assistant Den Leader Jeff McWeeney are always looking for opportunities to do group activities for the scouts where they have a chance to learn about different industries. This tour of the bank and its departments was a great look into the finance and banking industry.
Besides meeting the president of Manasquan Savings Bank, the scouts had a chance to interact with the tellers and view how everyday banking transactions take place. Each member had the opportunity to use the coin redemption machine and learn how it operates. They also toured other areas of the branch office as well as the various departments of the Corporate Headquarters, witnessing a typical business day at the bank.
