On Wednesday December 5th, Howell’s Girl Scout Troop #215 paid a visit to the Ramtown Branch of Manasquan Savings Bank. The troop, consisting of 11 Scouts, accompanied by Troop leaders Tricia Berwick, Robin O’Connor and Kevin Bobal, had a chance to tour the bank and learn about the importance of banking. Jennifer Weisert, the Branch Manager at the Ramtown Branch of Manasquan Savings Bank in Howell Township, led the tour.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to give the troop members a better understanding of the banking industry,” Weisert explains. “The girls loved having the chance to go around the branch and learn how everything works. We had a chance to explain why keeping money in banks is important and how it impacts everything people do such as providing safe ways to buy necessary items like a car and home,” adds Weisert.
Manasquan Savings Bank frequently receives visits from various local groups such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and local schools.
“We’re proud to be an integral part of introducing our community’s children to the world of finance. The tours can be very rewarding by sparking an interest in learning about currency and how it relates to our world,” adds James Vaccaro, President and CEO of Manasquan Savings Bank.
